Clyde Digital Privacy Policy

Who we are

Clyde Digital is a website design business run by Adam McConville, 13 Woodhead Place, Cumbernauld G68 9DA. Adam is the "controller" of the personal data described here. You can contact us about privacy at adam@clydedigital.uk.

If you send us an enquiry

If you fill in the enquiry form on our website or email us, we use your name, business name, email address, phone number and message only to reply to you and, if you go ahead, to provide your website. The form sends your enquiry to Adam's email inbox through Cloudflare, which hosts this website. We don't add enquirers to any mailing list. We keep enquiries that don't go ahead for up to 12 months, then delete them.

What we collect and where it comes from

We collect business contact details for companies we think might benefit from a new website. These include the company name, its registered company number, its public business email address and phone number, its website address, and our notes about its website. We get them from public sources such as Companies House, the company's own website and its public business listings.

If you reply to us or become a client, we also keep our emails with you and any details you give us to do the work, such as the content for your website and billing details.

Why we use it

We use these details to send a small number of relevant emails to limited companies and LLPs about our website services, and to reply to you, quote for work, build your site and invoice you.

Our legal basis for contacting businesses is our legitimate interest in telling them about a relevant service. For clients, we rely on what's needed to carry out our agreement with you, and on any legal duties we have, for example keeping tax records.

Saying no

Every email we send tells you how to opt out. Just reply "stop" and we won't email you again. We keep a short record of your email address and company name on a do-not-contact list so that we don't contact you again by mistake.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. We only share it with services that help us run the business, such as our email provider and website hosting provider. They are only allowed to use it to provide their service to us.

How long we keep it

If a business we've contacted doesn't reply, we delete its details within 12 months. We keep client records for as long as the law requires, which is usually six years for financial records. Do-not-contact entries are kept for as long as we do this kind of outreach.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, delete it, stop using it, or send you a copy. You can also object at any time to us using it for marketing. Email adam@clydedigital.uk and we'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We'd appreciate the chance to put it right first, though.
